Privacy Policy

ToneLoupe collects nothing about you or your work. This page says exactly what the app does and does not send.

Screen content

ToneLoupe reads the pixels inside the loupe frame using macOS's ScreenCaptureKit, with your explicit permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording). Captured frames are analyzed on your Mac's GPU and discarded immediately. Nothing is recorded, written to disk, or transmitted anywhere.

Data collection

The app contains no analytics, no accounts, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. We run no servers of our own and cannot see anything about you or your work.

Network requests

The copy bought on this site makes two requests. It validates your licence key with Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, and once a day it asks toneloupe.com whether a newer version has been released. Neither request carries anything about you or what is on your screen. The Mac App Store copy contains no licensing or update code and makes no network requests at all.

This website

Page views are counted with GoatCounter, which sets no cookies and stores no personal data. Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy under their own privacy policy. If you arrive from an ad, the campaign name in the link is counted so we know which ad worked; it identifies the ad, not you.

Settings

Your preferences (analysis mode, opacity, frame rate, keyboard shortcut) are stored locally on your Mac, inside the app's own sandbox container, and never leave it.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
